Continued success ensures a new 5-a-side Football division for football crazy Eastbourne
The UK’s leading 5-a-side football operator, PITCH INVASION, has had so much success with their long running league in Eastbourne that they have been forced to open a new division to cope.
The new division is taking place at Pitch Invasion’s existing venue at Eastbourne Sports Park on a Wednesday night.

Current Premier Team Olivers Army and Championship Team Predatorz FC have been enjoying success in what has become a hotly contested match night. But with Eastbourne producing so many talented teams, can they hold the top spots for long?

With the addition of a new division and light evenings even more teams can now experience the excitement of a fast moving match, taking the league up to 24 teams.

Pitch Invasion’s unique format for five-a-side allows for a cleaner, more skilful, open and exciting game than eleven-a-side, with fewer stoppages and more goalmouth excitement. It is also a great way to stay in shape; a Pitch Invasion player will typically take 4500 steps during a game - half the recommended daily amount in only 36 minutes.

Even though five-a-side is still regarded by some as a relatively new sport, the Football Association has announced that it is the most popular team sport in England. Recently 5-a-side officially overtook 11-a-side as the most popular playing format. The FA has awarded Pitch Invasion as the “2007 UK Small Sided Competition Provider” in recognition of its superb league organisation and disciplinary standards.

Matches for the new division will be taking place every Wednesday between 7.00pm and 10.30pm. Players and teams can sign up for the action at www.pitch-invasion.com or by telephoning 0870 241 2494.
