Marathon Runner completes Century
Beachy Head Marathon was 100th for Orpington Man
A 54-year-old man has taken part in his favourite marathon to mark the 100th time he has completed the gruelling 26-mile-long event.

Nigel Webb, from Orpington, south East London, completed the Beachy Head Marathon on Saturday.

Mr Webb has taken part in races in London, Dublin and Barbados but said he chose this event to mark his century because the scenery was so beautiful.

About 1,700 other people took part in the race which finishes in Eastbourne.

The route takes in scenery at Cuckmere Haven, as well as the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs and the Long Man of Wilmington, a figure cut into the side of Windover Hill.

Mr Webb, who has taken part in the London Marathon 20 times, said despite reaching his century he had no plans to stop running.
