Towner launches first summer volunteerplacement programme
Eastbourne�s Towner is launching itsfirst summer volunteer placement programme that will provide successfulcandidates with comprehensive training, personalised skills development andvaluable experience in a leading contemporary art museum
Enthusiastic individuals are being sought to participatein this new programme which is centred on delivering exceptional visitorservices.



Gallery volunteers will be on hand to meet and greetvisitors and share information on the Towner building and its renownedcollection, exhibitions and events. Working alongside gallery assistants theywill play a vital role in the award-winning Towner and its unique visitorexperience.



Towner will be offering training which will cover allaspects of the front of house role, from customer services, health and safety,disability awareness to guiding tours, education workshops and conservationawareness.



Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism,Cllr Neil Stanley said �Eastbourne�s Towner is a fantastic culturalvenue for the town and it is also one that offers a number of greatopportunities for the community of Eastbourne.This is a great chance for someone interested in this sort of career to gainsome valuable experience in an award-winning gallery which is knowninternationally and hosts artwork from artists from all over the world.�



On completion of the programme volunteers from the summerplacement programme will be presented with a skills certificate demonstratingtheir achievements and skills gained � something that will increase theiremployability in the wider sector in the future.



There are still spaces available on Towner�s summervolunteer placement programme so if you love art and feel committed,enthusiastic about Towner and what they do then this is for you!



Applicants should be able to commit to two and a half daysper week (including weekends) � this involves two days in the galleriesand half a day training each week. Training commences on Monday 9 July and theplacement lasts until 30 September.
