Its official Eastbourne is not just the Best Resort in the UK, but its now the friendliest too!
Scooping up Most Group-Friendly UK Destination at Fridays prestigious Group Travel Awards, Eastbourne is this week celebrating the new addition to the resorts current awards collection of Blue Flag and Best UK Resort wins.

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin said I am delighted with our awards success this year. We have worked hard with the industry to provide our visitors with a first class experience and the timing couldnt be better. With world class tennis here all week, and the launch of our new advertising campaign Where in the world, all eyes are currently on Eastbourne.

The resort is no stranger to the award having previously won the accolade for three years running. This time the resort fought off tough competition from both city and coastal destinations including Blackpool, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, Scarborough, Chester, Southport and York.

Held at the London Park Lane Hilton, the leading industry event saw Eastbourne nominated in three categories, including Best Individual Hotel for the resorts Cavendish Hotel and Best Event for annual airshow Airbourne. Featuring for the first time, the airshow competed alongside high profile names such as the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and BBC Gardeners World Live, before being pipped at the post by winner Holiday on Ice.

Tennis fans will be able to toast Eastbournes awards success this week with champagne and strawberries at the Hastings Direct International Championships, where four of the worlds top five players lead a star studded line up, competing for the prestigious Eastbourne trophy. New campaign Where in the world will be on show for both visitors attending the tournament and for tube passengers travelling across London, who will be asked to guess the mysterious location but will they guess its Eastbourne?
