With crowborough top of the league and Town starting to put a run of results together , this was always going to be a tight 2nd round RUR cup game at the Saffrons .
However Town turned on the style and beat the previously unbeaten Crows 3-1 at the Saffrons to progress into the next round where they will meet the winners of Eastbourne utd or Lancing away .
The opening 30 mins was a tight affair as both teams tested each others defences , Town moved the ball around well , and the game looked to heading for a 0-0 draw at half time until the 32 nd min .The ball was crossed into the Crows penalty area , bobbled nastily in front of the keeper , under pressure from Greg Manton , the keeper could only watch as it hit his knee and rebounded into the goal .1-0 Town at half time .
It was 2-0 to Town shortly after the break , this time Shaun Loft found himself with time to spare , he picked out the onrushing substitue Mark Goodwin at the far post and he volleyed Towns second .
As Town had showed on Wednesday night , they are subseptable to concedeing quick goals , and within 2 mins Crows pulled a goal back , when Danny Baker was allowed time to slot home , 2-1 to Town .
Town , however were in no mood to relinquish there good start, but they had to wait until the 82 nd min to make sure of the game .This time it was Luke Denton who turned provider , his cross was superbly met on the volley by Liam Baitup and he made no mistake to score his 12 th goal in all competitions .
Town hope to carry this good form into next weekends Fa Vase tie when they entertain Merstham at 3.00pm at the Saffrons.
