EASTBOURNE EAGLES ACE KENNETT ON LOAN FOR A SEASON
EASTBOURNE Eagles this week revealed that Edward Kennett will not feature in their plans for 2007.
Eagles are in discussions with two Elite League clubs for his team place next season.
New promoter Bob Brimson said, "Ed and the club felt he needed to get away from Arlington for a season, and that's why we are not be selling him only putting him out on loan".
He continued, "I want to make it clear that Ed has behaved impeccably through all of this and has been very straight with us; now we are working together to help him find the right situation for 2007."
Kennett will be keen to improve on his consistency, which has seen him struggle to make the move into an established middle order rider. Rumours have circulated for some time that he would not be at Arlington next season and the club has moved to clarify the situation for the fans.
"People forget he is just 20 years old and has a great career ahead of him wherever Ed ends up next season the club hope he develops properly.
"We have not got enough British riders who can mix it with the big boys, but Ed certainly is capable of that" said Brimson. "He is a local lad who has strong ties with the club. It is not the last time you will see Ed in Eastbourne race colours."
