RAMBO HAT-TRICK PUTS BOROUGH IN LAST EIGHT
A HAT-TRICK in the last 25 minutes by Scott Ramsay ensured Garry Wilson's return to his old club was a happy one at a saturated Pilot Field on Tuesday night. Borough won the Sussex Senior Cup tie 4-0.
But their march into the last eight was not all plain sailing.
The turning point came in the 63rd minute when Hastings were reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of home defender Kevin Rose who received a second yellow card for a reckless challenge on Matt Crabb.
Two minutes later Ramsay had broken the deadlock and by the final whistle, a rampant Borough had hit three more without reply.
"The boy getting sent off helped, but we were starting to edge it anyway," said Wilson afterwards. "And sometimes it can be harder to play against 10 men. The fact was Lee Hook hardly had a shot to save all night."
"We certainly can't complain at scoring four goals away from home which makes nine in two games."
